The Creation
(experience this with me)
Imagine you’re waking up on a carefree Saturday morning. You ease into daylight and check your phone; it’s been busy with activity – missed calls, voicemails, text messages. Your friends and family have been calling you to celebrate the good news. Your best friend called and left a voicemail filled with a flurry of joy – she tells you she booked a 5-star weekend trip to your most desired location so you two can celebrate. Your family is congratulating you, already planning a celebration party in your name. Your heart is pounding with excitement, and you haven’t gotten out of bed yet.
You are delighted by the news and hop out of bed with a grin on your face. You take your time getting ready, noticing the sensations you’re feeling as joy pours into your being. The smells are richer, your skins is smoother, your hair – it’s perfect. You dress for a cool day, and leave your place in pure delight and curiosity for what the day will bring.
You head down to local coffee shop, the place you frequent every weekday for coffee. It’s the weekend, but you enjoy the coffee so much you’re willing to go during their busy hour and get yourself a taste of their delicious drink. As you walk inside and get in line, your eyes are pulled to a corner table where you see the man of your DREAMS. He looks and meets your gaze, and lets out a big grin. He gets up from his table and comes to introduce himself. After a jaw-dropping exchange of pleasantries, you give him your number and he tells you he’ll pick you up tomorrow evening at 7 for your first date.
Your day continues to unfold in magical ways. You pop into your local bookstore on a whim, hoping they’ll have the book that’s been out of stock for the past two weeks. You walk up to the information center and lo and behold, the man tells you they just got the book in TODAY and it hasn’t even hit the bookshelf yet. He asks you to wait a minute and tells you he’ll go get a copy for you from the back.
You take a walk by the river, coffee and book in hand. Everyone you pass on the streets looks at you and smiles, they are in awe of YOU, your beauty, your magnificence, and they don’t even know you yet! It won’t be long before your name takes word across town…perhaps even grander than that.
All you’ve ever desired, dreamed of, envisioned…it’s all happening. It’s unfolding right before your very eyes. You pause and look out over the river, enjoying the moment just as it is…for all there is left to do is celebrate.
The Story
(my personal experience – how the inspiration came about)
I let out a big sigh of relief after arriving in Bali safe and sound. It was a nearly continuous 24 hour flight (excluding a 15 minute run through the airport) and I was ready for rest.
A few days passed as I got adjusted to a new sleep schedule and more accustomed to my surroundings. I had this desire to EXPLORE, and I remember wondering how nice it would be to meet a driver that could show me around the island. But – not just anyone – I wanted to meet someone who was connected with the spiritual nature of the island and knew of the temples and sacred sites. The thought brought a smile to my face and I let the desire go…
About a week into my trip, I was walking one day down to the beach, and saw an older man sitting in a chair as I turned the corner to head down to the water. He said “miss, taxi? Are you looking for a driver?” I replied “oh, no, I’m just walking down to the beach.” He got up out of his chair, introduced himself as Ida, and started showing me on a laminated map all of the tours and places he could take me around the island. I engaged in conversation with him – his passion for the island and knowledge about its history was permeable. He then started talking about the temples…the energy…the chakras…I stood and listened intently, a smile spreading across my face. I eventually asked for his business card, and then went down to the beach.
Less than a week later I sent him a message, and off we were, exploring the islands beauty.
You see, Ida was on the same route I walked every single day for 3 weeks as I went down to the beach. I couldn’t have missed him even if I tried. And this is the magic of this place…everything on this island is…closer. A 20 yard walk to the grocery, 25 yards to shops, massages, hair salons, restaurants. A 5 minute walk to the ocean…everything is right HERE. So close you can just reach out, and touch it…

You get to live a life where your desires come so freely to you, so openly, that their fulfillment is just part of the natural unfolding of your life. You get to live a life where any resistance, fear, uncertainty, and doubt gets to be released with ease…you get to live a life YOU desire, a life where everywhere YOU are, there is a deep fulfillment and richness of a life well lived.
May 2024 be the year where you let every desire, every dream, come so close that it stands right before you, and all you have left to do – is celebrate.
